The EventEmitter class in Angular 2 is used to emit custom events synchronously or asynchronously. It has the emit method to emit these custom events.

//syntax
class EventEmitter<T> extends Subject {
  constructor(isAsync: boolean = false)
  emit(value?: T)
  subscribe(generatorOrNext?: any, error?: any, complete?: any): Subscription
}
