The set of access links is known as Optical Access Network (OAN) which shares the same interface of the network which is supported by OAT or optical access transmission. There can be several ODNs included in the optical access network which are connected to the same Optical line termination. OAN can be appropriately considered in both FTTH (Fiber to the home) and wifi access networks. In case of fiber connection, OAN can be proved to be beneficial as this connection is flexible, strong and reliable with long distances. The management cost of fiber is low with complete safety and security. The connection cables are light weighted with small diameters.
