    Few difference between cold backup and hot backup are

    Cold backup

      • To perform this backup it is needed that no activity should be running on the system.
      • It is also known as an offline backup.
      • In case of cold backup database files are copied exactly like they are made.
      • It is quite easy to take this backup and recovery process is also simple.

    Hot backup

      • Hot backup can be performed even when the database is running.
      • It is also known as online backup.
      • In case of hot backup database files are copied but there can be certain changes in the database at the time of the copy.
      • During the time of the backup you can easily use your system and can recover the database anytime.
