The transactional processing system is known as OLTP while the analytical processing system is known as OLAP, both of them are the types of online processing systems. OLTP system works for the online data modification while OLAP works as an online database query answering system. The main function of OLTP in the database is to update, insert or delete the information on the other hand OLAP helps in extracting decision making data for analysis. The response time of OLTP is in milliseconds while OLAP response in seconds to minutes. The OLTP uses well organized and detailed data, on the other hand, the data of OLAP might not be organized. The process of OLTP is market-orientated while OLAP is a customer-oriented process.
