How are IELTS scores calculated?

The IELTS score ranges from 0 – 9 and the candidate can also get scores like 0.5 or 5.5 or 7.5.
Since the IELTS exam has different testing skills like listening, reading, writing and scoring; for each skill, the candidate gets a band score and there is also an overall band score which is the average score of all the skills combined.
